Beautiful examples of Art Nouveau along the Modernism route in Barcelona. A must for art lovers. Just follow the signs.

A recent Zaragoza to Paris flight gave us a unique chance to contemplate the landscape of the Monegros desert from above. Surreal lines and textures. The desert is located east of Zaragoza, above the river Ebro (see its location on Google Maps).
Dear friends, we have just opened our very own page at Google+, a platform that opens the door to interaction and exchange with other photographers.
We’ll be glad to receive your visit at our Google+ page.
A visit to the funfair, our local “fiestas” are taking place right now and it is the perfect place to be.

I have been invited twice to take part in the Toamna la Voronet festival in Romania, organized by a bunch of talented and enthusiast photographers. This blog post is not about the work I submitted to the festival on both editions but rather about the photographers organizing the event. I have only words of praise for the way the festival is organized and the professional way in which guest photographers are invited and treated.

What thrills me the most seeing photos of this and other events organized by the group is to see how love and passion for photography is shared with the general public.
I don’t know how big a part my Flickr friend and sublime photographer Marius Vasiliu plays on the event (I suspect it must be quite substantial). In any case, make sure you have a look at the profile of his work I published at Flickr photographers: Marius Vasiliu, Romania.
This is the first of a series of posts introducing you to some of the most outstanding photographers among my Flickr contacts (I introduced the series at Flickr photographers & friends: a new series).
Marius Vasiliu, from Gura Humorului in Romania, is a source of endless joy who provides precisely what makes Flickr so special to me. On the one hand, he gives his viewers the chance to discover a Romania many had never dreamed of – although his work is not restricted to Romania. On the other hand, his mastery of composition, light and technique is a reference for anyone with a passion for photography and embarked on a permanent learning process.
Check his brilliant photostream. Below you will find a small selection of shots to open your appetite for his work. They are reproduced with the kind permission of his author. Click on the photos to go to their original Flickr page. Small selections always run the risk of misrepresenting the work of the photographer so make sure you find the time to explore Marius photostream in detail, as there are many more extraordinary captures there.
Some would say enthusiasm for Flickr is on a steady decline. It might be so. Social networks, our own personal projects, work, are taking up so much time very little is left for Flickr. But the magic of two things Flickr always gave me is still there:

I would like to share some of that magic through a series of entries introducing you to the work of some of the most talented Flickr contacts and friends of mine. I keep a short list of contacts as I make it a point to visit their photostreams on a regular basis, and that takes an awful lot of time.
Images of the splendid Oloron Cathedral (Cathédrale Sainte-Marie d’Oloron-Sainte-Marie), in France. The cathedral is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site as part of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela in France.
Ansó is a small and secluded village in the Spanish side of the Pyrenees. Every year, on the last weekend of August, it pays homage to the tradicional dresses and customs that have survived across the centuries. It is beautiful celebration where the locals wear their best dresses for the enjoyment of visitors. Here’s a small sample of what we saw at the village.
